Solar firms are short of roofers
Solar firms across the North West are electrician-led businesses. Every pitched-roof install still needs someone who can mount the system and leave the roof watertight — and that’s the half they struggle to staff.
It’s roofing work. Accredited roofing teams get sub-contracted onto solar install crews — and a re-roof is the best solar opportunity there is: roof stripped, scaffold already up, customer already spending.
One week is what stands between your team and being able to quote for it.

What it doesn’t cover — read this
This qualification covers mounting and weatherproofing. The DC wiring, inverter, AC connection, testing and commissioning are the electrician’s work, and must stay that way. MCS certification is held at company level, not by individuals.
