Our Courses

Six trades, two routes to work.

Running now: Solar PV and Roofing, both delivered at our Price Street Business Centre site.

In setup: Kitchen Fitting, Plastering and Tiling are being fitted out in our new workshops, and we’re adding External Wall Insulation (EWI) installation. Joinery currently runs for our schools and 16–18 groups, with adult dates on request. Register your interest on any of these and we’ll come back as soon as dates are confirmed.

Across the six trades there are two routes to work: trades where you finish ready to start trading on your own (Kitchen Fitting, Joinery, Plastering, Tiling), and trades where we introduce you to hiring employers (Roofing, Solar PV). Pick the trade that matches the working life you want.

We also continue to deliver practical construction provision to schools for Years 10 and 11 learners, five days a week, with students attending one to three days each, plus full-time 16–18 study programmes for post-16 learners — see the Schools and 16–18 cards below.

Solar PV Installation

Train as a Solar PV installer on the roofing side: surveying, mounting, weatherproofing, and cable routing. Built for roofers and new entrants — two clear pathways on the course page.

Roofing

Hands-on training on our pitched-roof rig. Pitched and flat covered, with safe-working built in. Employment-route trade with consistent regional demand.

Schools (Years 10 and 11)

Hands-on construction provision for Year 10–11 learners, one to three days a week. Adult courses run in a separate building, so school and adult groups never share space.

Full-time post-16 construction training for school leavers — practical trade skills, English and maths, and employability, with progression to apprenticeships and work.

Traditional and modern joinery techniques. A self-employment-route trade — workshop bench to site fit-out. Currently running for our schools and 16–18 groups; adult dates on request.
