These terms apply to places booked on our Solar PV Installation for Roofers course. Please read them before you book — by paying a deposit you are agreeing to them.
Course fee £700. That is the total you pay. Cornerstone Vocational Training is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added and there are no additional charges at any stage.
The fee covers five days of tuition, use of the training rig, all materials, and your NOCN registration and certification.
1. Securing a place
Places on each course date are limited to ten. A place is confirmed only when the £150 deposit has been paid — at that point the place is removed from the number shown as available and we send written confirmation of the date, times and venue. Selecting a date without paying does not hold a place.
2. Paying the balance
The remaining £550 is due 14 days before the course start date. We send a reminder three weeks beforehand and a second reminder when payment falls due.
If the balance is unpaid four days after it falls due, we may release the place to someone else and retain the deposit. We will always contact you before doing this.
3. Booking within 14 days of the start date
Where a course begins in less than 14 days, the full £700 is payable at the time of booking and you will be asked to confirm that you want your place secured straight away.
4. Your right to cancel
If you are booking as an individual rather than for a business, you have 14 days from the day after you book to cancel and receive a full refund, including the deposit, with no reason required. Email info@cornerstone-training.co.uk to do so.
Where you have asked us to start the course inside that 14-day window, this right ends once the course has been fully delivered. If you cancel after it has begun but before it finishes, you pay for the days delivered up to the point you tell us.
Bookings made by a business, or by a self-employed tradesperson for their own trade, are business-to-business contracts and this statutory right does not apply. The terms below govern those bookings from the point of booking.
5. Cancelling after the 14-day period

The deposit covers the place we held and turned others away from, which is why it is retained in every band.
6. Moving to a different date
You can transfer to another course date once, free of charge, provided you give at least 14 days’ notice and the new date falls within three months. Everything you have paid moves across with you. Later transfers, or transfers requested with less than 14 days’ notice, carry a £30 administration fee and are at our discretion.
7. If we cancel or move a course
Courses run subject to minimum numbers. If we cancel or change a date, you choose: a full refund of everything paid, including the deposit, or a free transfer to the next available date. We will give as much notice as we reasonably can. We are not able to reimburse travel or accommodation booked independently, so please take that into account before booking either.
8. Attendance and certification
The NOCN Solar PV Installation for Roofers qualification requires attendance across all five days and completion of the assessed practical tasks. Learners arriving after a session has started may not be able to join it on health and safety grounds. Learners must be 18 or over, reasonably physically fit and comfortable working at height.
9. Where courses run
Courses are held at our adult training centre, Unit 6, Price Street Business Centre, Price Street, Birkenhead, Wirral CH41 4JQ. Joining instructions, including parking and what to bring, are sent a week before the course starts.
10. How we use your information
