These terms apply to places booked on our Solar PV courses at our adult training centre in Birkenhead — the three-day NOCN Solar PV Installation for Roofers qualification and the standalone system days. Please read them before you book. By booking a place, or by paying a deposit to hold one, you are agreeing to them.
What you can book
The same three days run every week. You can book a single day, or all three for the qualification.

Cornerstone Vocational Training is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added and there are no additional charges at any stage.
Wednesday is not bookable on its own. It is the assessment day, and it is available only to learners taking the full qualification who have completed the Monday and the Tuesday.
What the fee does not cover. The qualification fee covers three days of tuition, use of the training rig, all materials, your NOCN registration and your certification. It does not cover the separate online certificates some employers ask for — abrasive wheels, electrical safety and working at height awareness. We will tell you which of those your own work is likely to need and where you can take them, but they are bought separately and are not part of the course fee.
1. Securing a place
Each week carries ten places across the three days: six for learners taking the full qualification, and four on each single system day. A place is confirmed only when payment has been received, or when a deposit has been paid under section 3. At that point the place is removed from the number shown as available on the course dates page, and we send written confirmation of your dates, times and venue. Selecting a date without paying does not hold a place.
2. Booking and paying online
Places booked through this website are paid in full at the time of booking, by card or with Klarna — £250 for a single system day, or £700 for the full qualification. You will receive an email confirmation, and your place is secured straight away.
Paying with Klarna. When you book online you can pay by card or with Klarna. If you choose Klarna, Klarna pays us in full at the time of booking and you repay Klarna under your agreement with them. Our cancellation terms are the same however you pay. Any refund due is made back through Klarna, which will adjust what you owe them. We don’t charge extra for paying with Klarna.
3. Deposits and employer invoices
If you would rather pay a deposit, or you are booking as a business and need an invoice, please do not book online. Call 0151 666 2180 or email info@cornerstone-training.co.uk with the dates you want and we will set it up.
For the full qualification, a £150 deposit secures your place and the remaining £550 is due 14 days before your first day. We send a reminder three weeks beforehand and a second when payment falls due. If the balance is unpaid four days after it falls due we may release the place to someone else and retain the deposit. We will always contact you before doing that.
Single system days are £250 payable in full. There is no deposit option on a single day.
Employers booking one or more people can be invoiced the full amount on our standard terms. Where a course begins in fewer than 14 days, the full fee is payable at the time of booking.
4. Taking the three qualification days
The three days do not have to be taken in the same week. You can take one a week, or spread them out to suit your work, provided all three are completed within four weeks of the first day you attend. We will agree your dates with you when you book. If you cannot finish inside four weeks, talk to us before you book rather than after.
5. Upgrading from a single day
If you book a single day and then decide you want the qualification, you can upgrade. What you pay depends on what you have already attended, and every route comes to the same £700 total.

Upgrades are arranged through our upgrade request form rather than bought online, so that we can check your attendance and confirm you can still finish within the four-week window before we send you a payment link. Once paid, an upgrade follows the same cancellation terms as a new booking.
6. Your right to cancel
If you are booking as an individual rather than for a business, you have 14 days from the day after you book to cancel and receive a full refund, with no reason required. Email info@cornerstone-training.co.uk to do so.
Where you have asked us to start the course inside that 14-day window, this right ends once the course has been fully delivered. If you cancel after it has begun but before it finishes, you pay for the days delivered up to the point you tell us.
Bookings made by a business, or by a self-employed tradesperson for their own trade, are business-to-business contracts and this statutory right does not apply. The terms below govern those bookings from the point of booking.
7. Cancelling after the 14-day period

The retained amount covers the place we held and turned others away from, which is why something is retained in every band. Where you have already attended one or more days, those days are treated as delivered and are not refundable.
8. Moving to a different date
You can transfer to another date once, free of charge, provided you give at least 14 days’ notice and the new date falls within three months. Everything you have paid moves across with you. Later transfers, or transfers requested with fewer than 14 days’ notice, carry a £30 administration fee and are at our discretion. If you have already started the qualification, a transfer cannot extend the four-week completion window without our written agreement.
9. If we cancel or move a course
Courses run subject to minimum numbers. If we cancel or change a date, you choose: a full refund of everything you have paid, or a free transfer to the next available date. We will give you as much notice as we reasonably can. We are not able to reimburse travel or accommodation booked independently, so please take that into account before booking either.
10. Attendance and certification
The NOCN Solar PV Installation for Roofers qualification requires attendance across all three days and completion of the assessed practical tasks. Learners arriving after a session has started may not be able to join it, on health and safety grounds. Learners must be 18 or over, reasonably physically fit and comfortable working at height. Bring your own safety boots; everything else you need is provided. Lunch is not provided.
11. Where and when courses run
Courses are held at our adult training centre, Unit 6, Price Street Business Centre, Price Street, Birkenhead, Wirral CH41 4JQ, from 9:00 to 16:30 with a 30-minute lunch break. Joining instructions, including parking and what to bring, are sent a week before your first day.
12. How we use your information
We use the details you give us to administer your booking, register you with NOCN where that applies, and contact you about the course. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
