Solar PV — On-roof system day — 23 February 2027
A full day on on-roof solar — the mounted system that sits above the existing roof covering. Theory and workbook in the morning, practical on the rigs in the afternoon.
What you will cover
- On-roof mounting systems and how they are fixed
- Rail layout, brackets and penetrations through the covering
- Setting the covering back around the fixings so the roof stays weathertight
- Mounting the panels onto the rails and connecting them up
- The workbook sections that go with it
Who it is for
The same — roofers broadening into solar, and anyone wanting the on-roof skill on its own.
What to bring
Just your own safety boots. We provide everything else — hi-vis, helmet, gloves, eye protection, your workbook and pens. Lunch is not provided.
Where and when
Unit 6, Price Street Business Centre, Price Street, Birkenhead, Wirral CH41 4JQ. 9:00am to 4:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch.
Want the qualification as well?
This is a standalone day. On its own it does not lead to the NOCN Solar PV Installation for Roofers qualification. If you decide afterwards that you want it, you can upgrade and complete the days you have left — you are never charged twice for a day you have already done.
