Course Overview
Our Tiling course gives you the core skills of a working tiler: setting out, cutting and fixing wall and floor tiles, working with adhesives and grouts, and finishing to a professional standard. Built for new entrants moving into construction trades, with strong demand from renovation, kitchen and bathroom work across the region.What You’ll Learn
- Tiling fundamentals and proper tool handling
- Mixing adhesives and grouts to the right consistency
- Setting out tiles for balanced, symmetrical layouts
- Fixing wall and floor tiles to line, level, and plumb
- Cutting tiles accurately, including around edges and corners
- Preparing and priming surfaces for tiling
- Working with ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles
- Waterproofing (tanking) wet areas such as showers
- Grouting, sealing, cleaning, and finishing techniques
- Safe working on site and around materials

5 days of practical, hands-on training using real tiles, adhesives, and dedicated tiling bays at our Birkenhead workshop.Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications required. A reasonable level of physical fitness is needed — tiling is physical, methodical work. Candidates must be 18 or over.Who Is This Course For?

On successful completion you receive a recognised qualification through one of our awarding bodies (NOCN or Open Awards). You’ll also gain the safe-working foundations needed for CSCS card progression.Cost & Funding
