Course Overview
Our foundation roofing course sets you up for entry-level work in the roofing trade, giving you the practical, hands-on skills employers look for — from roof structures through to tiling, ridges, fascias and guttering.
What You’ll Learn
- Different roof structures — cut roofs and truss roofs
- Installing roofing felt, with consideration of roof type and pitch
- Fixing battens at the correct spacing for tile type, size and roof pitch
- Installing tiles using a variety of bonds
- Considerations for high-wind areas
- Installing a dry ridge
- Installing fascia boards and guttering
- Installing a dry verge
Course Duration
5 days of practical, hands-on training using our pitched-roof rig and solar PV mounting setup at our Birkenhead workshop.
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications required. A reasonable level of physical fitness and a head for heights are essential. Candidates must be 18 or over.
